Things I love to talk about:

Music/Dance:

I’ve been playing drums for 20+ years and still play in a band. I founded a competitive hip-hop contemporary dance group at UC Davis, Agape, and they’re still going strong. Before my wedding, I had multiple meetings with my DJ just to make sure the song list was perfect.

Sports:

I enjoy playing/watching/studying basketball. If I’m not at the gym playing 5 on 5, I’m figuring out 30 for 30 ESPN documentary I want to watch. I listen to podcasts trying to find an insight to make fantasy playoffs in different sports leagues.

Film/Animation:

I’m obsessed with movies. I like to break them down and analyze the act structure and plot devices. I pause scenes to study the composition and visual language. Every director has a story to tell and I want to appreciate what they are trying to say.

Art:

I love to draw. Whether it is figure drawing, digital painting, or visiting museums, I need to open my creativity in many ways. Expressing emotions and absorbing what the world displays and capturing it on a canvas inspires me and my design identity.

Family:

I just had my first kid in 2022 and my wife and I are always seeking opinion and wisdom on how to go about this new season. I enjoy learning about my wife’s Vietnamese culture as well as my own heritage and how to raise our child to embrace and appreciate his own and everyone else’s background and legacies.
